Daxter soon to hit PSN Store

September 24, 2009 by Ready At Dawn Studios

Our very first game, Daxter, has been approved for release in the US in its downloadable form on the PSN store.

Since this was our first downloadable game, we couldn’t resist adding a little extra for the fans so this will be the only version of the game running at full 333Mhz on PSP.

You won’t believe how smooth the frame rate is, it’s worth replaying the entire game just for that :)

Enjoy!

Cube of War

April 01, 2009 by Ready At Dawn Studios

We’re kinda surprised no one has found this one out yet but if you finish Chains of Olympus in god mode, no upgrades, and collect all the urns of power twice without dying you open up the companion cube as a hidden character.

Chains of Olympus is Best Handheld Game of 2008

February 20, 2009 by Ready At Dawn Studios

We’re super proud to announce that Chains of Olympus won Best Handheld Game of 2008 at last night’s Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences 12th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards.

The game also gathered multiple PSP and Handheld game of the year awards with Game Knights, Game Trade Journal, Gaming Indians, PSP Updates, Die Hard Gamefan, Gamegirl, Wired, GameTrailers, 1UP Reader’s Choice, Famitsu (Japan), Gamespot Reader’s Choice, Gamespy, Joystiq and many more.

The game was one of the 10 highest rated games of 2008 on ANY PLATFORM according to Metacritic, and BTW it’s still the highest rated PSP game of all time.

We also got our second BAFTA nomination which is a huge honor for us.

Our other title last year, Okami, also gathered quite a few nominations for best Wii game of 2008 so we’ve got many reasons to celebrate right about now.

Thanks to all of you guys for making our games such an incredible success. We won’t disappoint you in the future. Stay tuned.

Happy Holidays indeed…

December 12, 2008 by Ready At Dawn Studios

According to Gamasutra, 2 out of 5 top PSP games sold on Amazon in the US last week were Ready At Dawn games with Daxter and Chains of Olympus both making the top 5.

Maybe we should reconsider this whole ‘no more PSP games’ thing because we seem to be pretty good at it :)

December 11, 2008 by Ready At Dawn Studios

Last month we held a party to celebrate Ready At Dawn’s 5 year anniversary. The theme was ‘Casino Night’ and it was a great opportunity to demonstrate that we do clean up well. I guess Game developers don’t ALWAYS wear shorts and flip-flops :)

PSP Mod Creator Visits RAD

August 16, 2007 by Ready At Dawn Studios

You might remember this really cool God of War PSP Mod that was in the news a little while ago. Its creator, Ramon Stokes, put it up on eBay with portions of the proceeds going to charity.

Well, you know how we do, we couldn’t let this one pass so we used our ninja eBay sniping skillz to outbid all the competition and claim this really cool piece of hardware all to ourselves…while at the same time doing something cool for Child’s Play.

But we didn’t stop there. In order to make sure the PSP wouldn’t get damaged during shipping, we flew its creator Ramon over to Southern California to hand-deliver it, meet the team and get to play the soon-to-be-released Chain of Olympus demo. We’re passionate people and we like passionate people so we were all super jazzed to meet the guy behind this one-of-a-kind handheld. Of course, getting to see the game in action before anyone else wasn’t bad for him either :)

Check out the pictures we took during his visit. In case you’re wondering, the PSP will make…

GoW: CoO Best PSP game E3 2007

July 19, 2007 by Ready At Dawn Studios

It’s deja-vu all over again! Two years after our first game “Daxter” received a similar distinction at the industry’s biggest trade show, our second game “God of War: Chains of Olympus” further cemented its status as PSP’s most anticipated title by being named “Best PSP game of E3 2007″ by Game Trailers, Gamespy, IGN and Gamespot.

IGN also awarded the game Best Action Game, Best Graphics Technology and Best Artistic Design. And just like “Daxter” before it, we were even nominated for “Best Action/Adventure game of E3 2007″ on Game Trailers and even “Game of the Show” by Gamespot, both times ending up the only handheld game against all next-gen games on home consoles. Not too shabby.

Here’s some of what they all had to say:

“This epic prequel makes no sacrifices in its transition to the PSP. The fluid controls, outstanding graphics, vicious combat and enormous bosses all hold true to the legendary experiences players have come to expect from the console versions. Kratos and his newest conquest stands head and shoulders above the competition on PSP. The development team has…

New Slim PSP…with Daxter!

July 12, 2007 by Ready At Dawn Studios

We were thrilled last year when the new white PSPs were released for the first time in Europe bundled with our first game “Daxter”. Imagine how cool this is that, as Sony announced yesterday, a new slim PSP will be released in September in a limited edition “Daxter Entertainment Pack”. That’s right, not only will you get the super cool “Ice Silver” PSP (who comes up with these names?) but you also get a copy of one of the best games on the platform (we tend to think it’s THE best game on the platform but we’re biased), a 1GB memory stick and a UMD movie featuring “Family Guy”.

You can even plug the new PSP on your TV and play Daxter on a big screen. We don’t recommend doing this with other PSP games though as it tends to make your eyes bleed (JUST KIDDING!!! You will be able to do that with God of War: Chains Of Olympus just fine…ok…sorry…we’d better stop before people take this seriously and other…
